Ms Quinns 5th Class have been studying many interesting artists this year. The children have created abstract art inspired by Hilma Af Klint and experimented with tessellation inspired by M.C. Esher’s creations.
Inspired by M. C. Esher, 5th class experimented with and created their own tesselating patterns from card. They then planned and printed their designs onto paper and decorated their tessellations using a variety of colours, patterns and art media.
5th class were inspired by the work of Hilma Af Klint, particularly her "The Ten Largest" collection of paintings. Based on her "No. 3 Youth" piece, the children sketched and designed their art exhibits. 5th class then used water colour paints and oil pastels to bring their Hilma Af Klint abstract art to life.
